Diaper Cakes That Are Easy To Make.
82Diaper Cake for a Baby Girl
Unique Gift Idea
Do you have a baby shower to attend in the near future but can not think of a unique gift? Something that the parents to be will love. Or have you thought about buying the old stand by diapers, but don't want to just wrap the box.
Diaper cakes are all the new craze. But they can cost upward of $150.00 if you can find one to buy and in some areas this is almost impossible unless you want to pay for shipping also, not to mention you might not get what you paid for. For some in todays economy that is just not feasible.
Well now you can give a diaper cake that the parents to be will love not only because it is a unique gift, but because you put in the time and love to create it from the heart.

Simple Directions for Creating a Diaper Cake
There are 2 different ways to put together a Diaper Cake. In these instructions I'm going to explain the way that I found the easiest. But by trial and error you may find a way that is easier for you. These directions are just to help guide you through the process.
Step 1 To Create the Botton tier roll a diaper starting with the bottom rolling inward towards the top and secure it with a Rubber band (I found that Postal size - 3 1/2 X 1/4 works best.)
Step 2 Begin adding diapers around the rolled diaper by wraping them around and securing them all with one rubber band. Very quickly the bundel will get to big for a diaper to go around, but keep sliding the diapers under the rubber band layering them very closely from the bottom of the diaper over one another. Your done once you reach your desired size. I start with the bottom tier so I can portion the next tiers.
Step 3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 for all the tiers that you want to creat. Just make each tier a little smaller than the one before.
Step 4 Stack the tiers from largest to smallest. Make sure that under the bottom tier you place a cardboard cake round (found at most craft stores) or you can get creative just as long as you have something solid on the bottom so the Diaper Cake can be moved.
Step 5 Now comes the fun part - Decorating your cake. One thing that you will always need to use is some wide ribbon to cover the rubber bands, I like something that is about 3 inches because it adds color to the cake also. Just glue the ribbon tightly to its self so you do not destroy any diapers. Then add any baby stuff that you would like.
